I had a mildly successful blog, way back in 2008-2010 when blogs were first becoming "big." After having a baby I slowly abandoned it while many of my blogging buddies went on to make successful careers for themselves. I have missed the blog world and decided to dip my toes back into the water, and have found that the face of blogging has changed so much in four years that I am having to find my footing all over again.

I have a love for writing and for connecting with and encouraging other women, even if my photography skills leave something to be desired!

{ the business }

Silver Sparrow home was born in May of 2013. I had just had my second child and was suffering from a bad case of the baby blues. I needed a creative outlet and was running out of furniture in my own house to paint! I took a step of faith and emailed a local store owner, and my partnership with Goat River Folk Art began. I now sell things at the shop, and my garage is piled to the rafters with furniture waiting to go under my brush. I joke that painting saved my sanity, but I truly feel that this little business has in fact saved me. It has changed my life in so many ways. I have never worked so hard, and I have never loved a job more!

I am a mother of two little girls, and I live in a small Canadian town. I've been decorating and creating since childhood - my mom and I redecorated my bedroom more times than I can count! I have a love for decor and creating a home that is truly reflective of it's owners; I believe that good design does not have to be expensive and that anyone can make a beautiful space no matter how small their budget.
